Liverpool v Spurs has MOVED — check the new date before you book anything
The Carabao Cup third-round tie at Anfield has been pulled forward a day. UEFA's scheduling started it; three fixtures ended up moving.
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup third-round tie against Tottenham Hotspur has been moved forward by a day. It will now be played at Anfield on Tuesday 15 September, kick-off 8pm BST, live on ITV and Sky Sports.
The tie had originally been scheduled for Wednesday 16 September.
Why it moved
A chain of scheduling, rather than any single decision. UEFA placed Liverpool’s Champions League fixture against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday 9 September — the same night Everton were due to host Wolves in their own Carabao Cup tie.
Merseyside cannot stage simultaneous home fixtures for logistical and policing reasons, and UEFA declined to move the Atlético game, citing the impact on supporters travelling from abroad. The EFL rearranged its own competition instead. Three ties were affected.
What it means for you
If you have booked travel or accommodation for the Wednesday, it is now wrong by a day. Ticketing arrangements are unchanged.
